From High A Top Mount Evans — An Alpine Vignette

Nature often has the best composition, you just have to slow down the “smell the roses.”

Alpine Vignette

Imagine a crisp Colorado day, high atop Mount Evans, west of Denver. Amid the hustle and hubbub of tourists clamoring from the parking lot up the last hundred feet or so; take a moment to look down at your feet. Behold an alpine vignette perfectly formed for your enjoyment.

Barely a wide as your hand and no more than a inch tall, these flowers last but a few days. Clinging to life through harsh winter months covered with snow for 8 months. But this is July and its time to put on a show!

A macro lens was used to preserve depth of field along with a circular polarizer to deliver spectacular color. Using Photoshop a damaged leaf was replaced with one from above, adjusting proportional scale, lighting and a slight shadow.
